Here is a list of 'Factory Order' terms and what they involve:

Factory Order — Also referred to as a “Sold Order.” This is a specific build for a vehicle determined by the customer and then made by the manufacturer.

VON — Vehicle Order Number: once a factory order is placed, it is assigned a VON which you can refer to on your order documents.  This is helpful when tracking your order through its ordering & build process.

POC — Price Order Confirmation: a detailed printout of the factory order, showing precisely which packages and configurations were chosen along with their MSRP and invoice price. This will look nearly identical to the quotes your Order Specialist has provided, only that it will have your VON listed at the top and your name & address listed on the bottom.

VIN — Vehicle Identification Number: the individual identification number that stays with the vehicle for its entire lifecycle (from pre-build status, through the build process, through its sale transactions, and for the rest of time).

Buyers’ Order — The document that confirms the purchase price agreed to by MARK DODGE and the customer.  In the factory order status, this first reflects the vehicle price, deposit, and Documentation Fee – state taxes, title, and license fees are added at the time of delivery.

Documentation Fee (or DOC FEE) — A charged fee of $425 by Mark Dodge to process all legal documents on the dealership’s end, including a $15 notary fee and $4 Louisiana temporary plate.

Deposit — This is the amount ($1,000) that is non-refundable when placing your factory order to guarantee your commitment to the build.  The deposit is applied to the bottom line of your sale price on the buyers’ order, acting as part of your down payment.

Price Protection — The transparent promise we make to you on what you pay for your order. Factory orders are price protected the moment they are submitted and accepted.  Once your name and address are applied to submitted order, your buyers’ order price does not change, even if the MSRP goes up.  In some instances, you may see the window sticker associated with your VIN increase in value – but you will always pay the same agreed upon price.  This price protection strictly relates to you and cannot be transferred to other people – ask your Order Specialist for more details.

Window Sticker — During the build process, a virtual window sticker is generated.  This shows the standard and elected features, as well as estimated fuel efficiency and vehicle’s MSRP.  NOTE: This does not show the price you are agreeing to pay for the vehicle.

PDI  Pre-Delivery Inspection: Once your vehicle is manufactured and transported to the dealership, it is considered to be in “Ship Mode.”  The vehicle will then be cleaned, have certain functions and features turned on or calibrated, and equipped with all necessary fluids.  The vehicle is also inspected for safety, functionality, and cosmetic transport damage.

Affiliate — Certain associations or employers have “affiliate” relationships with the manufacturer and may generate incentivized interest rates, cash incentives, or discounts. In many circumstances, MARK DODGE's sales price is already a better option and we may be able to offer you an additional applicable discounts. You can speak further about this with your Order Specialist, if applicable.

Delivery — This is when you, the customer, receives possession of the vehicle. This could fall under driving it straight off the lot or taking financial and liability possession of the vehicle (where it may stay on our lot for a few days waiting for shipping).

Shipping — This refers to when we’re shipping the vehicle from our dealership to your desired location.
NOTE: We will deliver your vehicle (or pick you up) for no additional charge within a 250-mile radius of MARK DODGE!

Transport — This is the process of the finished vehicle making its way from final assembly to our dealership.

Stellantis — The parent company that manufactures Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and RAM vehicles (among other vehicles, internationally).
