You pick the class size, cab and bed, powertrain, trim, packages, and color instead of taking what happens to be on a lot. What is a factory order, and how is it different from buying off the lot?
Buying off the lot means choosing from vehicles a dealer already bought. A factory order means the plant builds a vehicle to your specification and ships it to you. You control every option on the build sheet. The trade is time: a lot vehicle is available now, and an ordered vehicle arrives after it is built.

What do you actually get to choose?
More than most buyers realize. Ram, Jeep, Chrysler, and Dodge each offer far more configurations than any lot can stock, because most dealers stock what they think most customers want. How does the order process work, start to finish?
You tell an Order Specialist what you want, they build the configuration and quote your price in writing, you place the order with a deposit, the plant schedules and builds the vehicle, and you take delivery at the store or at your address. You review the full contract before you sign anything.
- Talk through the build Bring a rough idea or a full spec. Phone, email, or text works. No visit required.
- Get your configuration and price in writing Your Order Specialist sends the build sheet and the Mark Dodge price for it, quoted against MSRP. Review it as long as you need.
- Commit remotely E-signed paperwork, a confirmed build specification, and a deposit submit the order. Your price locks once Stellantis accepts it.
- Your order is accepted and you get a VIN The VIN is assigned when the manufacturer accepts your order. An estimated build date follows a few weeks before the plant begins.
- The plant builds it, then it ships The build itself takes a few short days to a week, then moves through inspections and finishing. Transport, mostly by rail, takes a few weeks.
- Complete the transaction remotely You close at the agreed price or better, entirely remotely, and you get pictures of your vehicle as it goes through our inspection process.
- Delivery Pick it up in Lake Charles, or we bring it to you. Delivery inside 300 miles is included at no charge. For longer distances we coordinate shipping, where the expense varies, and you will know the cost before you commit.

How long does a factory order take?
It depends on the build, and it is a moving target. Ram heavy duty trucks have arrived in as little as six to ten weeks when the plant is moving quickly. Most Ram 1500s and Jeeps run two to four months. Low-volume builds like a 392 Jeep or Dodge are more often three to five months.

When does my price lock in, and what happens if MSRP goes up?
Your starting MSRP and your Mark Dodge discount are contracted the day you order. Your purchase price cannot go up. If Stellantis raises MSRP before your vehicle is built, you will see the higher number printed on the window sticker when it arrives, and you still pay the price on your order agreement.
Every new vehicle sold in the United States carries a factory window sticker, the Monroney label, required by the Automobile Information Disclosure Act (15 U.S.C. § 1232). It lists MSRP, the factory-installed options on your specific build, and the destination charge. On a factory order, that sticker is the document that proves the vehicle was built to the spec you chose. Compare it line by line against your order agreement before you sign.

In most cases you have access to the incentives available at the time of order or at the time of delivery, whichever is better for you. You will know your options before you sign or spend a dime. Can I factory order if I do not live in Louisiana?
Yes. Out-of-state buyers order the same way in-state buyers do. You spec the vehicle by phone, email, or video, review your paperwork electronically, sign remotely, and we arrange delivery to your address. Mark Dodge handles the title work and coordinates transport from Lake Charles to you.

How a remote order actually runs
- Spec and quote. Phone, email, text, or video call. Your Order Specialist sends the build sheet and price in writing.
- Documents. You receive every finance document to read before any signature is requested.
- Signing. Electronic signature, from wherever you are.
- Title and registration. We process the paperwork for your state. Your own state's tax, title, and registration requirements apply, and your Order Specialist will tell you which documents your state needs.
- Delivery. Included at no charge inside 300 miles of Lake Charles. Beyond that, we quote transport through our carrier network, or you can fly in and drive home.
Every vehicle is checked against open NHTSA recall records and inspected before it leaves us. That is our responsibility, handled before your vehicle is released, not something you need to chase.
Can you factory order a high-performance Ram or Dodge?
Yes. Low-volume performance builds are orderable the same way any other vehicle is, and they are the configurations most likely to be unavailable in local stock. Mark Dodge orders them at the same discounter pricing structure applied to the rest of the lineup rather than adding a market markup.
Performance orders are where configuration control matters most, because the build combinations are limited, allocation is tight, and the specific truck you want is unlikely to be sitting anywhere near you. Ordering removes the hunt.

How long does a factory order take?

Do I have to visit the dealership to place a factory order?
No. You can complete a factory order from home. Spec the vehicle by phone, email, text, or video call, receive your build sheet and price in writing, review the finance documents at your own pace, sign electronically, and take delivery at your address.
Is my deposit refundable if I change my mind?
The deposit on a factory order is non-refundable, because it is what locks your configuration and your price with the plant. Your Order Specialist explains the deposit terms in writing before you place the order, and the deposit applies toward your purchase.
What happens if MSRP goes up while my vehicle is being built?
Your starting MSRP and your Mark Dodge discount are contracted the day you order, so your purchase price cannot go up. The window sticker on the delivered vehicle may show a higher MSRP than it did the day you ordered, and you still pay the price on your signed order agreement.
Can I use my own bank or credit union on a factory order?
Yes. You are not required to finance through Mark Dodge or any preferred lender. Bring your own approval from a bank or credit union, or ask us to shop lenders for you and compare. Either way, you review the finance paperwork before you sign it.
Can I trade in my current vehicle on a factory order?
Yes. Appraisal happens close to delivery rather than at the time you order, because mileage and condition change while the vehicle is being built. Send photos and details when you order so your Order Specialist can give you an early estimate to plan around.
Who handles the title and registration if I live in another state?
Mark Dodge processes the title paperwork and works with your state's requirements. Your state's tax, title, and registration rules apply to the purchase. Your Order Specialist tells you which documents your state needs and what to expect on timing.
